Coaxial Core

CCS and CCA central core conductors

The skin effective

At higher frequencies, current flows along the outer surface of a conductor. That means that the core of a copper conductor is under-utilized. Bimetallic conductors with cores made of select metals can be used to enhance performance.

Copperweld CCS coaxial core conductors provide added strength when cable installations require a more rugged, durable product. Our steel-core conductors offer tensile strength 40% greater than copper coaxial cores. We offer CCS coaxial cores in three conductivities: 21%, 30% and 40%.

Our CCA coaxial cores have lower resistance for improved signal loss and lower voltage drop. That reduces the need to amplify the signal over longer cable runs—especially important in satellite dish and cellular applications. Copperweld offers CCA options with 10% and 15% copper by volume.

Coaxial Core product offering

Copperweld offers a multitude of coaxial core options. Below is a list of our most popular wires. Contact our sales team to discuss your project needs and start a quote.
