Copperweld CCS grounding conductors are commonly used in substation ground grid, equipment and fence grounding applications. Major electric utilities in the United States have been using Copperweld CCS for substation grounding over a century.
Our Century line of grounding conductors have been used in substations for over a hundred years, offering increased reliability and resilience through superior strength, conductivity and theft deterrence. Our new ArcAngel products add improved electrical performance and outstanding flexibility.
ArcAngel is an IEEE-compliant CCS grounding conductor for substation grounding applications where electrical performance is critical and flexibility is needed, while still offering all the benefits of our Century products.
Century is our flagship family of grounding conductors and structural cables that have been installed in the harshest environments for over 100 years. With twice the strength of copper, it is used in applications where high tensile strength, corrosion resistance and theft deterrence are required.
Strength of steel. Conductivity of copper.
Soils in the US typically leach about 0.0005 mils (or 0.0000005 inches) per year from the surface of CCS. At 10 mils, that represents a 20,000 year service life!
Works like copper. Looks like steel.
Copperweld Camo™ is a 100% copper finish that uses a proprietary process to camoflauge grounding conductors from appearing like copper, a target for theft.
Hide your grounding conductor in plain sight.
Hide™ is a PVC jacket that provides sequential footage markings along the length of the cable insulation.
Copperweld CCS conductors enable longer service life, lowering total cost of ownership, reducing maintenance expenses, and reducing power outages.
Customers use Copperweld Century™ conductors—available in Bare, Camo and Hide—for transmission and distribution grounding because it provides excellent ground fault performance, improves durability and reduces theft incentives.
The greatest threats to pole-top transformers are incidental contact and loose connections from vibration. Copperweld Stingray™ riser wire provides resistance against wind fatigue and has an easy-to-strip covering.
Longer span lengths reduce the expense of adding utility poles. Since the 1940s, Copperweld Copper Composite (CCC) conductors have been used for their superior ability to cover long spans and improve service life in rural power distribution.
Copperweld has solutions for complex installations that require maximized tensile strength, such as aerial grounding or messenger applications. Copperweld's Extra High Strength (EHS) CCS conductors provide industry-leading strength and improved durability.
Designed to reduce wildlife and incidental contact, Copperweld® Stingray™ wire is an easy-to-install, covered, CCS high-voltage cable for use between phase conductors and equipment bushings.

Copperweld has a new suite of stranded conductors that are optimized for the renewable energy market. Consider Sunray™ for connecting your solar farm and ArcAngel® or Century™ for grounding.
Copperweld 50 years of experience producing Copper-Clad Aluminum (CCA) to develop Sunray photovoltaic wire, a UL 4703-listed product. Copper-Clad Aluminum conductors have been referenced by the NEC for decades. Sunray is used for string wire applications to connect solar panels. When upsized per the NEC, Sunray is a more energy-efficient solution and is more cost competitive. Sunray is lightweight, flexible and reduces the incentives for theft, as it has minimal scrap value.
Utility scale solar requires utility-grade grounding solutions to protect workers and equipment. Copperweld’s Century grounding products have been used in trench ground applications in solar and wind farms for many years.
Copperweld developed ArcAngel, a new performance grounding conductor that provides added flexibility while enhancing strength and electrical performance.
Sunray is the most energy-efficient, cost-efficient photovoltaic (PV) wire on the market. Our premium CCA conductors offer 3% greater efficiency than standard cables, which means more money in your pocket.
